About The OWL Movement

The Free Networking Group That Helps Others in the Community Give Back

A local business or nonprofit gives something away. A neighbor who needed it gets it. The whole county sees who did it. We are not a charity, and we never ask you for money.

What O.W.L. Stands For

Outreach
Outreach means we come to you.We stop by local shops, show up at events around town and sit down with the people who keep Carroll County going. We would rather shake your hand than send an email, because that is how the best connections start.
With
We never do any of this alone.Local businesses and nonprofits make it all possible, and we thank every one of them by name when we share what they did! The more of them who step up, the more neighbors around here we can reach together.
Locals
These are our neighbors in Westminster, Eldersburg, Taneytown, Mount Airy and the towns around them. The next time you see one of our posts, there is a good chance it is someone you know being helped by a business you drive past every week!

  1. A Local Nonprofit Brings One NeedA nonprofit we already work with, like The Shepherd's Staff, brings us one real need from someone they serve.
  2. We Find the Business for ItWe ask the local partners who do that kind of work, like an HVAC company for a water heater.
  3. The One Thing Gets DoneOne specific need, met at no cost to the neighbor. We never ask the public for money.
  4. We Share It, with Their OKWith the neighbor's permission we post the story and thank the nonprofit and the business by name. Some choose to stay anonymous.
