The Short Version
An older woman in Westminster hit a hard stretch and could not afford groceries. She does not drive anymore and could not get to a store on her own, so our own team grabbed her essentials and dropped them at her door. We asked who could help her on July 24, 2026 and shared the grocery run the next day.
The Whole Story
Who Dropped Groceries at a Westminster Neighbor’s Door?
Our own team at The OWL Movement did. A woman in Westminster reached out to us for help, so we grabbed her essentials and dropped them at her door.
Why Could She Not Get Groceries on Her Own?
A hard stretch left her unable to afford groceries. She is older and does not drive anymore, so she could not even get to a store on her own.
How Did She Reach The OWL Movement?
She sent a message to our page. On July 24 we posted that a neighbor here in Westminster was looking for two things.
- Food to help her get by
- A safe place to live
We asked anyone who knew a local organization that could help her to comment or send us a message.
What Happened When We Dropped Off the Groceries?
We left her essentials at her door and shared a reel of the grocery run on July 25. She was so grateful! Alongside the reel we wrote this.
“Asking for help is scary, and we never want it to feel that way.”
Is She Still Looking for Long Term Help?
She was when we shared her grocery run on July 25. That reel asked anyone who knows a local nonprofit that could help her long term to send us a message. We also sent her plenty of information about Caring Carroll and other local nonprofits that help neighbors in need.
When we posted about our yard signs in September, groceries for someone who could not get to the store made the short list of what the movement had done so far.
We are so glad we could show up for her!
