George’s Free HVAC Tune Up from Wenbrooke Services

He won something for himself, and gave it to his daughter

The OWL Movement pairs neighbors who need a hand with local partners who can give it.

George's Free HVAC Tune Up from Wenbrooke Services

The Short Version

George Hardinger of Westminster won a free HVAC system tune up from Wenbrooke Services in our giveaway for local homeowners 55 or older, and the first thing he did was give it to his daughter. We announced him as the winner on April 13, 2026.

The Whole Story

Who Won the Free HVAC Tune Up from Wenbrooke Services?

The winner was George Hardinger from Westminster, and the first thing he did was give the tune up to his daughter, saying she needed it more than he did. He won something for himself and his first thought was someone he loves.

This whole giveaway ran on people thinking of someone else first, and George did the same thing with his prize.

Who Is Wenbrooke Services?

Wenbrooke Services handles electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning work, and you can find them on Instagram at @wenbrookeservices. They are based in Columbia, Maryland.

The tune up they gave away covered a thorough inspection and cleaning of the HVAC system plus a complete safety check and findings report. If your own system is overdue for that kind of care, Wenbrooke Services is worth a call.

Who Was the Wenbrooke Services Giveaway For?

It was for a local homeowner 55 or older who could really use a tune up heading into summer. Wenbrooke Services put it up for free and the winner got an OWL Movement T-shirt too.

When nominations opened on April 6 we summed up the whole point of it in one line.

“Someone in this community is going to head into summer with peace of mind because you took 30 seconds to nominate them.”

How Did George End Up with the Tune Up?

We posted a reminder on April 10 with 3 days left, and on April 13 George stopped by our shop on the day the winner was announced. The tune up went to him, and he passed it straight to his daughter.

That makes George our second giveaway winner ever. You can meet every winner so far on our Stories page.

What Happened After George Won?

Wenbrooke Services took care of the tune up for his daughter, the same inspection, cleaning and safety check they put up for the giveaway.

A huge thank you to everyone at Wenbrooke Services for making this one possible! Their tune up was meant for one homeowner and it turned into a gift from a father to his daughter.
